Before the thread goes "silly". Although the format is dead, it still functions and owners still use it. For them, this is both deserved and appreciated. Gotta agree with you there Fish. This was totally unexpected and I embrace this surprise.
That touched my heart a little bit. Kudos to Msoft for not abandoning the add on. If only they had done the same for the first Xbox. Seriously i am very very impressed that MSoft didn't drop HD-DVD but when you start forgetting their past actions it happens again in the future. Best not to bury it and best to talk about it to make msoft think twice bout dropping X once X comes out. Gamecube was last and they still supported their console regardless. Not trying to bash msoft or the and they were better off dropping the add on than the original xbox.
So yea they did something good but dropping the xbox was worse. I really don't see how my comment should affect any microsoft fans. If dropping support for a old console is smart I have not played a single PS2 or Xbox game since So to me dropping production for a outdated console I dont play anymore is not going bother me none Just as long as the continue to make the new consoles support Backwards Compatibility and keep the servers up and running for those games.
Not that you care Sonarus since I know you just wanted to get your "jab" in on the system. Well i haven't been playing ps2 either but what about users who invested in the Xbox and are not ready to upgrade for one reason or the other?
Not every is ready to upgrade and by dropping support that is like sayin fvk you dude call us when you are ready to play with the big boys. Microsoft should have supported for a lot longer than they did.
Other than that their have been like 5 games released for the Gamecube since the Wii came out, none of them from Nintendo. It'll be able to play Blu-Ray movies! Good news for people who have one though. Good one.. The idea jumped into my head as well.
But this is good news nonetheless. This was the last update. Unless maybe a future update will make the the addon play bd movies, nothing will be coming. EDIT: Grrr..
As crazy as it may seem, I guessed you had commented before clicking on the open zone tab and I was correct. But it doesn't work??? Just let it die..
Haha you so funny. I got one for Christmas '06 - one of the main things I asked for.
I've got lots of enjoyment out it so I proudly admit I got one. I feel bad for all the suckers who bought it.
Microshaft isn't even going to give you the option to buy a Bluray drive now! Up nope the disc drive broke oh well. What is the point. I have a blu-ray player PS3.
Why did you even comment, it appears this effects you in no way. So not all is lost. I f u can have a good library collection i dont think its that big of a deal to keep using it. Gotta agree, props to Microsoft for keeping up their support. This might have been the last one though. Some of you doods are going too hard. Ease up, its just an update. But if warners went hd-dvd exclusive, there would of been updates for blu-ray also.
That includes Blu ray! Guess what, i don't give a flying FU K about updates. I want a reliable console that doesn't red ring. I want an internal or external BR drive! I suspect this update was in development way before the format war was concluded, so it was probably a bit of no brainer for them to release it. It did but that does not mean they need to end support via firmware update.
They can still update them I guess. This is nice for people that have already bought a buttload of hddvd's and want to get the most out of them while they still can.
