Thanks Gents, that issue is resolved. Thanks for your help so much! If you are using the ancient driver for it on HP's website, it may be too old to support WPA-2 security.
This is a strange issue. I do have those drivers installed. The card can see the network, and it's SSID as well as that it's unsecured. The only error message is "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action could not be completed:.
At first we had this as a secured encrypted router, so I went ahead and set the router to unsecured assuming it was an issue with encryption. But alas, I still can't connect. I also went ahead and replaced the card with another exact model known good BG nic.
I also thought to pre-add it in my Preferred networks list in Windows and see if it will connect this way, and it failed as well there.
When I remove all instances from the Preferred networks list, it will see it auto detect via Windows.
When I click connect, it attempts to "determine network type" and errors out there and states it can't connect to the network either. One thing I got to wondering about is the router itself I have it set to unsecured, but the transmit mode is "Mixed".
